We met the Houston Patriots fan club down in Houston and had a blast. After a beautiful scenic drive down there, thanks to Doug's expert driving, we arrived in time to take an educational tour of downtown Houston and have some dinner at Ruby Tequila's before the party. The Patriots gave us a generous gift on Sunday with an AFC Eastern Division title. This is how it is supposed to be. The AFC East without the Patriots as Champions just doesn't feel right. The Patriots dominated the Jaguars, taking a 28-0 lead, which could have been even better if tiny dancer hadn't fumbled at the goal line. Brady looked sharp. Moss owned the red zone once again. The Patriots all but locked the division with their win over the Bills. I will feel safer with another win though. I don't want to get into a tie breaker scenario with the Jets or Dolphins, because that hasn't worked out too well in the past. Let's not call this the end of a losing streak, let's call it the start of a winning streak. In the end, the Patriots beat a bad team handily, but it could have been a blowout. They still played poorly with fumbles and drops and blown defenses. Moss looked terrible. His head is not in the game. But 47 showed up! This is not the way it's supposed to happen. I think we all thought the Patriots were going to win out and go 12-4, get the bye week, destroy the Colts in the AFC Championship game, and then ruin the Saints' dreams of an undefeated season. Another elite team, another loss for our Patriots. Even a Double Dillon on chanel 28 wasn't enough to keep the Patriots in the game against the Saints, who are really looking good. I have a theory. It was another great turnout at McSwiggan's. The Patriots just crushed the Jets at home. Welker had a huge day. Moss did just enough, although Revis played him tough. Rex Ryan didn't cry despite being outcoached. Maroney... well, he was Maroney. When is Sammy Morris or Fred Taylor coming back?
