I think we're ready! This game gave us many opportunities to get our first down chant, our 47 chant, and our high fives in order. No, question, we made big improvements.
Jill is even working through an injury. We'll try to avoid putting her on IR.
We're all excited for real football to begin.
The Patriots gave a decent effort for the last preseason game. The offense looks great. The defense looks soft... too soft. They started the game by allowing the Giants to march right down the field for a touchdown. Brady threw an early interception, his first of the preseason. Things improved and they went back-and-forth for a bit. In the end, the Giants prevailed. And then they were both 0-0, along with the oth
We had a great time watching the Patriots demolish the Falcons on Thursday night. Good turnout for a weeknight. It was a good effort, and we are almost in regular season form. Almost.
Don't get me wrong. After a couple of reps, we got the first down chant going strong, got our forty-seven on, and generally made a public nuisance out of ourselves. Belichick would be proud. But we also have some things to work on. For example, charging our camera batteries. There will be no photo gallery for this one. Hey, it's the preseason for us too. We're all on the bubble. We need a good showing on special teams to make the cut.
Our Patriots look strong. Some of those young guys might make a huge difference this year.
Mike Reiss wrote an article on ESPNBoston.com about the best places to watch the Patriots. Here is the portion for Dallas:
Dallas
1. Stephen writes: "I run a Patriots fan club in Dallas. We watch the games at McSwiggans Irish Pub in The Colony, Texas. It's a great Boston pub. The owner and manager are both from Mass. If anybody in Dallas is interested, they can find more information at http://dallaspatsfans.com. We're also listed on the patriots.com fan club registry."
BTW, Reiss writes a great blog about the Patriots. You can find it at ESPNBoston.com.

Let's not call this the end of a losing streak, let's call it the start of a winning streak. In the end, the Patriots beat a bad team handily, but it could have been a blowout. They still played poorly with fumbles and drops and blown defenses. Moss looked terrible. His head is not in the game.
But 47 showed up! There are no problems with the long snapping in Patriots nation. Jacob Ingram is ...

This is not the way it's supposed to happen. I think we all thought the Patriots were going to win out and go 12-4, get the bye week, destroy the Colts in the AFC Championship game, and then ruin the Saints' dreams of an undefeated season.
Why does Brady always struggle against the Dolphins?
We had a good time watching this one, but we mostly sat and waited for something to happen. Either th ...

Another elite team, another loss for our Patriots. Even a Double Dillon on chanel 28 wasn't enough to keep the Patriots in the game against the Saints, who are really looking good.
I have a theory. Maybe the Patriots are trying to set up the undefeated teams to knock them down in the playoffs. It's brilliant, if you ask me.
Once again, it was a great crowd at McSwiggan's. The outcome of the ...

Our group of frenzied fans was mentioned (not by name) in a post in The Squawker on the Best of Texas blog. The article is about McSwiggan's Irish Pub, so that's some good publicity for them. McSwiggan's just seems to be tied to New England sports, largely because of the great crowd of Patriots fans (that's us).
But most of all, the article is about how Jill likes to eat lobster rolls. They ...

It was another great turnout at McSwiggan's. The Patriots just crushed the Jets at home. Welker had a huge day. Moss did just enough, although Revis played him tough. Rex Ryan didn't cry despite being outcoached. Maroney... well, he was Maroney. When is Sammy Morris or Fred Taylor coming back? Leigh Bodden had three interceptions as the Patriots defense confused Mark Sanchez.
And speaking of... ...

There was a huge crowd for the Colts game. Everybody had a great time... until Belichick lost his mind.
A couple of lucky attendees won prizes: a Patriots note pad and Patriots beer glasses. Congratulations!
The game was a blast. Manning was flustered. The Patriots were rolling. And then the defense couldn't get a stop. The Colts were within six when Belichick went for it on his own 28 ...

The Dolphins always play the Pariots tough, and they always try to throw a new wrinkle at the Pats. This time it wasn't enough. Pat White was ineffective, and so was Henne. What was with Henne's forehead anyway? I couldn't figure that out for the life of me. Maroney danced his way to a mediocre average. The Patriots ground it out for a 10-point win, about what we expected.
McSwiggan's is ...

Our first game at McSwiggan's Irish Pub was a lot of fun. We had the game on all of the televisions surrounding us.
The selection of beers was amazing, and the food was fantastic. You can't go wrong with clam chowder and lobster rolls.
We checked out the seats from Fenway Park, met some other Patriots fans who heard about McSwiggan's through word of mouth, played some darts, and got a li ...
